"Dubbing" means, among other things, making a re-recording from an old recording. Even after a tape starts to play fuzzy in the Walkman, you can, usually, dub a clear copy by placing the bad tape in the tape deck's left player, a blank good new tape in the right player, and pressing "Dub Normal Speed."
